This policy explains how Guides Recorder handles information when you use the web app and browser extension to record product workflows and create guides.
Information We Collect
Guides Recorder collects information needed to create a recording only after you sign in and explicitly start a recording from the extension. This may include page URLs, navigation events, clicked elements, element selectors, visible element text, form change previews, viewport information, timestamps, and screenshot previews used to help build guide steps.
Sensitive Information
The extension attempts to mask sensitive fields such as passwords, tokens, secrets, credit card fields, CVV/CVC fields, one-time codes, and other fields that appear private. You should avoid recording pages that contain confidential, regulated, or highly sensitive information.
How We Use Information
Recorded data is used to create, display, edit, and manage your guide recordings inside your Guides Recorder account. We do not sell recorded activity data.
Where Data Is Sent
The extension sends recorded events to the Guides Recorder backend at https://demos-pi-dun.vercel.app. Data is associated with the account that is signed in to the extension.
Browser Permissions
The extension requests access to websites so it can record workflows on pages selected by the user. Recording does not begin until the user clicks Start Recording in the extension.
Data Control And Deletion
You can stop, complete, and delete recordings from the extension or web app. Deleting a recording removes the recording and its captured events from the application.
